My mom decided sort of last minute to come visit for new years eve. She has been wanted to bring me all of my scrapbooks and things that she has been keeping in her storage for quite some time and she figured now was a good time to do that. So her and Gene packed (and I mean packed) toys and boxes and luggage oh and two dogs too into their little car and DROVE all the way to Florida from Colorado!! CRAZY! Anyhow they got here Wednesday afternoon and unloaded the goods!
Cailynn and Carter both LOVE the horse. This was my brother Matt’s when he was little!! It went through all three of us, then to my cousin, then back to my mom for Morgan and Brady, and now to Florida for my kids!!! WOW!
It was like Christmas all over again. They brought tons of my old toys, plus dolls and riding toys they had left over from Morgan and Brady! Even a fire truck (which I have yet to get a picture of!)
We didn’t do a whole lot of exciting things while they were here. We spent the first two days building a fence. Ours got blown over in a storm right before they got here, and since they had Tux and Tessy they needed to run in the back yard. So Gene and I (and a little help from my mom) dug new post holes, and rebuilt part of the fence.
We had to make it to to beach though! After all what is a trip to Florida without the beach?! So we bundled up (yes it gets cold here) and headed to the beach. Cailynn LOVES picking up seashells. And so to Nana and Papa Gene!! We found a pretty big jellyfish washed up on shore too.
Papa Gene was excited to meet Carter for the first time, and Cailynn just loves Papa Gene.
I put Gene to work again and had him help me build some Pinterest inspired bookshelves. These are made out of rain gutters from the Home Depot. Less than $20 for cute practical bookshelves. I think they turned out great….so does Carter!
