Day 6 – Thursday December 27th – Box Canyon Falls, Ouray

Thursday we headed to Ouray and hiked up to Box Canyon falls.  It was so pretty up there!  First we stopped and watched the ice climbers.

We were going to attempt another hike, but it started snowing and we were all freezing, so we called it a day.

Day 7 – Travel Day

I don’t know what it is about coming home, but it is always a bad day.  It started out pretty good.  The kids were happy, everything was packed and ready.  We made it to the air port with plenty of time to spare.  The first flight actually went pretty good.  It was pretty empty so people got to move around a bit.  We stayed put but the kids could bump the seats in front of us without upsetting anyone. We got to Atlanta with plenty of time to spare, ate some dinner and let the kids run around.  Then we boarded.  And the meltdowns began!  Apparently on a Delta Regional flight, infant in arms can only sit on the right side of the plane.  There are 3 air masks over there and only two on the left side.  Well for whatever reason, Carter wanted to be on the left side.  He screamed on the right side.  It was pretty miserable.  At one point before take off the flight attendant even asked us if we needed to go back to the terminal.  After about 20 minutes of BOTH children screaming bloody murder, we finally just put Carter on the left side and they both instantly quieted down, after SEVERAL dirty looks.  Ahhhh the joys of traveling with kids!  All in All it was a wonderful Christmas vacation.  Many many thanks to my dad and Mary for making it all possible and for putting up with our crazy family for a week.  We sure had a great time and can’t wait to go back!
